Lenovo Legion Y90 is a new Legion gaming device yesterday, the Lenovo Legion Y700. It has good specs at a reasonable price and has been teased for a few months now. Lenovo also announced its newly unveiled Lenovo Legion Y90 gaming laptop earlier today!
Mobile gaming has another winner this year. The Lenovo Legion Y90 is the next generation gaming PC with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, and it comes in three memory configurations so that you can choose your perfect specs. The new one with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, followed by 16GB RAM + 256GB storage and 18GB RAM + 512 GB + 128 GB SSD. It also has a 5600mAh battery, 64MP+13MP rear cameras, and 16MP front camera.
Lenovo’s new Legion gaming line adds to their other Android-based gaming devices. Though the 6.92″ display on the phone is just like any other tablet out there. And there’s one interesting feature that only worked well with a specific type of sale – Dual Storage, but now they have discontinued it as well.
Most of the Legion Y90’s features were designed to improve the mobile gaming experience. The 6.92-inch AMOLED display (1080×2460) has a refresh rate of 144Hz, 720Hz touch sampling rate, Delta E<0.6 color accuracy, and 1300nits brightness. There’s also a pair of stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support. Other great features include the haptic sensors, dual-fan cooling system, and 68W fast charging.
Lenovo has yet to announce when this phone would launch in Malaysia, but we believe that it’ll eventually happen. If you want to know the prices, refer to the list below. Anyway, what do you think about the phone?
Lenovo Legion Y90
This gaming phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and offers 16- or 18 GB of RAM options, with up to a total storage capacity of 256 G. The two lower configurations of the Lenovo Yoga Book have a total storage capacity between 256 GB and 512 GB. We’re not sure what “split storage” has been alluding to, but these configurations offer a fast UFS and an SSD. There are also two versions available: 16 GB RAM with 64-128 GB ROM or 128 GB RAM with 512-768GB ROM.
Samsung’s 6.9″ microdisplay, is a Samsung AMOLED panel with support for HDR & 190% color reproduction while the microdisplay has a 1,080×2,460px resolution and is nearly perfect color reproduction at 0.7Degrees.
Lenovo monitors are sleek, powerful, and offer a high refresh rate. This monitor features a touch sensitivity of 20 ms and a 144Hz refresh rate. The shoulder keys on the side allow you to easily input your desired inputs, plus two pressure-sensitive zones on the display for Shift and backspace. The response time will be as fast as that of an APC2 keycap and more intuitive due to the indicators (for left shift & backspace).
With the new S8’s improved tech, there is a 40% increase in performance. But this also comes with a few drawbacks, including a noticeable lack of headphone jack and now charging wire.
Stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos • Dual Z-axis linear motors for haptic feedback
On the front, there is a 16-megapixel camera with bright and clear images. The side view, on the other hand, features a 64-megapixel camera that can capture vast areas of landscape or pictures of small animals/animals in motion. Both have been designed to sit on the base of the phone, at a distance to avoid any hand smudging. There is also the Legion logo with vibrant RGB color backlighting which allows for an immense amount of different colors for those who prefer it.
5,600 mAh battery
The Legion Y90 has a large 5,600 mAh battery and can be fully charged in about an hour. It can play games or watch videos for up to 8 hours. The laptop also supports fast charging with a 60W charger. One of the USB-C ports on this new device is a 3.1 Gen2, while the other is a standard USB 2.0. If the phone detects that your content is 144Hz, then it will switch to that refresh rate. If it detects 120Hz, then it will switch to 120Hz. Alternatively, if the content is 90 Hz or 60 Hz, the phone will choose a standard refresh rate accordingly to optimize battery life.
Connectivity includes 5G (of course) and Wi-Fi 6 (ax, 2×2 MIMO). There is no 3.5 mm headphone jack (previous Legions didn’t have one either). At least you’ll still have a USB-C port, so you’ll need an adapter.
